Grand Mesa Music GMMOR104 A Festive March for String Orchestra

Using melodic and harmonic material from two of Handel's marches, here is a regal and stately processional that could open a young orchestra concert or serve at graduation or other formal ceremony.  All parts have interesting lines.  Basses have limited shifting and lines occasionally independent of cellos.  First violins get an soaring descant in the B section, while second violins double violas for solidity the whole way through.  Easy yet majestic, it's a great way to introduce this Baroque master to your second year students.
