Alliance Music Publications AMP0068 Gott B'hute Dich for SATB Choir
Gott b'uhte dich," an exquisite example of Lechner's treatment of the Italian canzone form, is set to a poem authored by his friend, the talented Nuremberg goldsmith Paul Dulner, whose compelling language and imagery distinguish him from his less gifted peers. Authorities believe the emotions of parting communicated in "Gott b'hute dich" are equal to the sentiments, expressed in the more famous "Innsbruck, ich muss dich lassen" of Heinrich Isaac (c.1450-1517).
