Roy Hopp is a very creative composer who brings much freshness to choral music. He always works with the very finest text writers and for this piece has teamed with Richard Leach. For this work Leach writes a poignant paraphrase of Isaiah 11: 6-9, the lectionary text for Advent 2A. Incorporated is a lovely antiphon for the congregation - "And a little child shall lead them, a little child shall show them the reign of God has come." This setting would be a wonderful addition to a lessons and carols service, so popular in churches of all denominations.
